Once again, it is time to register your child (children) for CCD religious education classes. We will begin on September 30, and our program will be held in our church using the upper church for prayer and De Chantal Hall for the classes. We need you to register as soon as possible so that we can prepare class lists, assign teachers and order the materials for the students. It is important that your child (children) continue with religious education. None of us can know enough about our faith, our God and the presence of Jesus in the sacraments. Religious education is a life-long journey for each of us. We also need you to re-enforce what is done in the class and so we ask that you pray with your child each day, that you bring your child to Mass on the weekends, that you check their homework and review their lessons, that you attend all parent meetings and programs --- you are the first and most important teacher of the child in the ways of faith. What you do, they will do. It is a serious responsibility but we can do it together. Please read this registration form carefully, spread the word that we have a terrific program and we look forward to bringing your child closer to Jesus this new school year.
Some important information about our program here at St. Frances:
Registration forms are being sent by e-mail to you; registration forms will be available in the church lobby on the ushers’ tables; registration forms will be available in the rectory office.
NEW STUDENTS must complete both SECTIONS 1 AND 2 and must provide certificates of Baptism and/or Communion. Returning students have these certificates on file in our religious education office.
We ask that all REGISTRATIONS be completed and returned by Wednesday, August 26 so that we can prepare class lists, materials, and prepare our teachers for their classes.
The fee for the religious education program remains the same as last year --- $150 for one child and $175 for a family. The fee includes your child’s workbook for class.
Completed REGISTRATIONS with the fee should be given to Mrs. Christi Costa in church or brought to the rectory. If you wish, you may mail the REGISTRATION AND FEE to the rectory (190 Hollywood Avenue, Bronx, New York, 10465, att: Mrs. Christi Costa) but, please, if mailing, enclose a check not cash.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 26.
Together with you, parents, the first and most important teachers of the faith, we can move ahead with the religious education of our children and bring them closer to the Lord Jesus.
Sincerely, Monsignor John Graham, Pastor Mrs. Christi Costa, Coordinator of Religious Education Fr. Jonas Oppong, Moderator Fr. Sandro Leyton, Moderator
