Dear Parishioners, 

On Tuesday, August 12 we will celebrate the feast of St Jane Frances de Chantal, our parish patroness … our parish Mass will be at 9 am with music … following the Mass you are invited for coffee and munchkins in the lobby … St. Jane Frances was a mother, a wife and widower, and administrator of her family estate, and the foundress of the Visitation Sisters … her spiritual director was St. Francis de Sales and she was guided and supported by the bishop in her work with needy and abused women …some quotes from her writings:  “the best method of prayer is no method at all, but simply complete openness to whatever God will do in your heart … You should never be astonished if you have not feelings in prayer, for feelings are not what God asks of you, but rather to be quiet, tranquil and humble.” … thank you, St. Frances.

El martes 12 de agosto celebraremos la festividad de Santa Juana Francisca de Chantal, nuestra patrona parroquial. Nuestra misa parroquial será a las 9:00 h con música. Después de la misa, están invitados a tomar un café y unos bocadillos en el vestíbulo. Santa Juana Francisca fue madre, esposa y viuda, administradora de los bienes de su familia y fundadora de las Hermanas de la Visitación. Su director espiritual fue San Francisco de Sales, y el obispo la guió y apoyó en su trabajo con mujeres necesitadas y maltratadas. Algunas citas de sus escritos: «El mejor método de oración no es ningún método, sino simplemente la completa apertura a lo que Dios hará en tu corazón. Nunca te sorprendas si no sientes nada al orar, porque no son sentimientos lo que Dios te pide, sino más bien quietud, serenidad y humildad». Gracias, Santa Juana Francisca.
