Dear Parishioners, 

Several parishioners have asked me to say
something about the "conversations" between the Pope and
the President ... the Pope has the responsibility to preach
and to teach the Gospel message of Jesus ... the President
has the responsibility to protect the people of the United
States ... both responsibilities are very serious, heavy
burdens and our prayers are needed for both leaders ...
respect, civility and courtesy should be the guidelines for
any helpful conversations and public statements ... we need
peace and we need protection ... we need to listen to God's
message to all people of good will.

Varios feligreses me han pedido que diga algo acerca de las
«conversaciones» entre el Papa y el Presidente... el Papa tiene la
responsabilidad de predicar y enseñar el mensaje evangélico de
Jesús... el Presidente tiene la responsabilidad de proteger al
pueblo de los Estados Unidos... ambas responsabilidades son
cargas muy serias y pesadas, y se necesitan nuestras oraciones
por ambos líderes... el respeto, la civilidad y la cortesía deberían
ser las pautas para cualquier conversación constructiva y
declaración pública... necesitamos paz y necesitamos
protección... necesitamos escuchar el mensaje de Dios dirigido a
todas las personas de buena voluntad.
